The role of the Project Accountant is to support the Chief Financial Officer with both ongoing and ad-hoc projects within the finance department. The role will require the Project Accountant to work internally with all different areas of both the UK and Global Business as well as external advisors from time to time.
US NAV Implementation and training
Having successfully implemented NAV within the UK and Singapore as of 1 October 2018, you will be responsible for working with the NAV Project Team to ensure that a smooth implementation is replicated in the US entity. Your responsibilities will be to ensure that all the localisation of workflows is documented and are tested accordingly. You will be the financial liaison in all aspects of this project. The timeframe for this implementation is 1 March 2019.
Once the system is ready, you will be an integral part of the US Team's training programme; from warehouse through to accounts team. This will involve travel to our current US office in New Jersey until approximately June 2019, which is when we anticipate the system will Go Live.
Post US NAV implementation there will be a number of ad-hoc projects that need addressing which come with an expanding global business such as Astro. This will involve but not be limited to the set-up of new offices overseas, tax projects, such as the implementation of tax digital in 2019 and other projects which support the strategic plan for the business.
These projects will involve reporting to both the CFO and other Directors within the business and again may involve some travel overseas.
The Project Accountant must have strong communication, organisational and people skills. They must be a proactive doer and be willing to take ownership of the projects they are involved in. They should also possess the ability and confidence to talk with overseas partners and have the skills to motivate and engage both internal and external stakeholders.
2+ years' post accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
Experience of working with Microsoft NAV accounting package
Good excel skills - Data manipulation via SUMIF, VLOOKUP, PIVOT
Experience of using JET reports with be preferable but not essential
Experience of working within a global business
