An Area Sales Manager is being sought to become part of our UK sales team. Reporting to the Head of Distributor Sales - UK, you will manage the Midlands and South West territory. The role of Area Sales Manager is a critical role to support the growth of Astro in its home territory of the UK.

You will be expected to deliver against challenging but realistic sales targets by maximising the potential of our existing channels and identifying new opportunities. This is a key role within our business and will appeal to someone keen on taking responsibility and making a difference. You will be instrumental in developing Astro's UK retail and wholesale business and will be expected to enhance sales, customer service and the Astro brand.

Responsibilities

  • Maximizing sales, profitability and growth of Astro's UK retail, e-commerce and wholesale customers.
  • Developing new account opportunities within the Midlands & South West sales area.
  • Building on existing customer relationships to maximise the full potential of all accounts within the Midlands & South West sales area.
  • Monitoring the activity of Astro's online retail customers. This will include pricing, product promotions as well as any activity that involves the Astro brand online.
  • To deploy strong key account management skills to develop Astro's customer base, roll out new initiatives and monitor ROI.
  • Implementing new point of sales schemes for Astro showroom customers, organising displays and other promotional material required.
  • Demonstrating products and carrying out training as required.
  • Co-ordinating the sales effort with the internal sales team and supporting other departments.
  • Handling any customer or product issues that may occur.
  • Attending exhibitions and trade shows as required.

About you

  • Demonstrable success in a similar role within the electrical industry.
  • Highly organised and capable of managing a territory of customers.
  • Experience in successful selling to electrical wholesalers and lighting retailers is an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent written and spoken English - articulate, accurate, and an eye for detail.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
