A true hub of creativity, Parndon Mill is opening its' doors to a brand new exhibition - 'Sea and Shore'.
Based only five minutes away from Astro HQ, it is fantastic to have the opportunity to visit a local exhibition that features two very different but equally talented artists. Both Neil Robbins and Marilyn Andreetti take inspiration from the landscape around us to create stunning pieces of art.
Neil Robbins has painted in Cornwall for a number of years, however it was only recently that he reintroduced himself to the beauty of the Cornish coastline. He describes this as 'a transforming moment of aliveness' and as a result his work has become less abstract, more studied and quieter in tone.
Neil's collection of paintings will be complemented by Marilyn Andreetti's characteristic new ceramics. Marilyn uses an array of underglaze colours to draw and paint landscape imagery onto earthenware clay, which are then finished with sgraffito.
Here at Astro, we feel very privileged to have a number of paintings from Parndon Mill displayed in our offices. If in the local area, we would strongly encourage you to not miss out on visiting the exhibition which will start 11th August and run through to 18th September.
Pop along to a private viewing of the exhibition on Sunday 14th August 2 - 4pm, or visit Parndon Mill Tuesday - Sunday 11 - 5. Find out more information on their website at www.parndonmill.co.uk.
