Astro HQ goes solar

Being a responsible business is fundamental to Astro. Over the last three years, Astro have continued to develop a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, focusing on identifying ways to minimise their impact on the environment.

Astro have taken a significant step forward in reducing their overall energy usage and carbon emissions by installing solar panels across the roof of their HQ in Harlow, Essex. Solar electricity is a renewable energy and therefore doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants into the atmosphere. Astro's 463 individual panels will generate the equivalent of the company's annual electricity usage, which means their HQ will now be carbon neutral.

The installation of solar panels is a considerable investment for any business, but Astro recognises the value this will add both in terms of improving efficiency of their HQ and supporting the UK's efforts in reducing overall carbon emissions.
