Most of our ceiling lights can be wall mounted. It is not recommended in the case of heavy layered-glass ceiling lights, such as Duplex. If a ceiling light is mounted on the wall, the lampholder must be positioned at the bottom of the product, so that heat generated rises away from the lampholder.
We recommend that plaster lights are sprayed rather than painted in order to avoid the brush stroke marks. Ceramics can be painted normally.
If you are an end-user and you have received a faulty product, please contact your supplier who should arrange a replacement for you. If you are a direct Astro customer, please note that goods you wish to return which are not faulty or defective will only be accepted if ordered or delivered in error or if an authorised sample. Please notify Astro of your request to return within 10 working days of the delivery date by completing the Astro Returns Form, which can be found here. Return requests can only be considered if notified within the 10 working day period. Once authorised and a returns number is issued, the goods must be returned within 10 working days of the issue of the returns number or the returns number will become invalid (20 working days for total process). Authorised returns will be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. Authorised returns will only be accepted in a clean re-saleable condition.This means that the item has not been used or damaged and is still in its original box with all contents included.There should be no additional labels or any writing on the product or the product box.

If the light fitting has one of the following lampholders (GU10, G9, E27 and E14), and you are not using a fluorescent/compact fluorescent bulb, then it can be dimmed using a standard wall dimmer-switch. Some fluorescent/compact fluorescent bulbs (usually ones fitting an E14 or E27 lampholder) can be dimmed - check what it says on the bulb packaging.
Generally speaking, there is no problem dimming low-voltage lights, but check that the transformer you are using is suitable. The transformer that Astro supplies is suitable to be dimmed using an ordinary wall dimmer switch.
In the UK, there are building standards that require either a fire-rated downlight to be used, or alternatively, you can fit an ordinary non fire-rated downlight, but used in conjunction with a proprietory fire-hood. Even though the standards do not require this in every instance, most electricians prefer to use one or other of these in all instances. Take a look at our fire-rated products.
All of our products are designed to run on standard European voltage of 230v. The main exceptions to 230v are in the American continent and Japan, where 110v is the norm. Whilst our mains-voltage lights will run on a 110v supply, there may be conflicts with the bulbs that are available locally. Our low-voltage, LED or low-energy lights will not work on a 110v supply.
No, your shaver/electric tootbrush will charge even when the light is switched off.
The shaver sockets in our products are all separated from the mains by a safety isolating transformer. As a result, they are suitable only for electric shavers and toothbrushes, including re-chargeable versions of these. They are not suitable for higher power appliances, such as hair dryers.
