Consistent with our creative ethos that good design demands simplicity, the matt black bathroom collection elevates our timeless offering to present an edit of classic, yet contemporary bathroom lighting.
Versatile Design
Applied to existing collections and new season innovations, the tactile matt black finish has been carefully created to allow each light to stand-alone and be a supporting player within well-established designs. Reflecting the essential role lighting design plays within our homes, tone and texture were key to establish a finish that sustains the quality credentials of an Astro product.
Creative expression
Our Co-founder and Design Director James Bassant, describes the collection as 'delicate and striking, with a relevance that complements the growing demand of black brassware in the bathroom". He continues "light is often not looked upon for its essential human need. Today, it provides a form of creative expression, using materials, colour, and texture to create both experience and function. The latest matt black bathroom collection epitomises this concept, delivering well-designed lighting that is both bold in design and illumination".
A modern revival
Taken as an opportunity to revive our legacy designs for contemporary living, the collection also welcomes updates to Sagara, a spherical and cylindrical shapes that present a modern approach to essential bathroom lighting. Pair either side of a mirror for a cohesive yet impactful lighting scheme.
Industrial elegance
As the latest finish within our portfolio, matt black now adorns many of our most popular products. Harvard, a lantern-style wall light influenced by industrial and vintage-style interiors, sits elegantly in a new matt black finish in addition to its brass, bronze, and polished steel counterparts.
Timeless grandeur
For those looking for added drama, look to the popular Tacoma and Tacoma Twin design in matt black. Best when combined with either a ribbed or smoked glass shade, the statuesque metal stem injects gothic style with a contemporary twist.
