Role overview

We are looking for an innovative Junior Designer with excellent CAD abilities to join our team in Harlow, Essex. The successful candidate will work with a talented team of product specialists and engineers to devise timeless design solutions that are accessible, sustainable, and elevate what came before them.

What you will do

  • Visualise and execute product concepts under the guidance of the head of design
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand design requirements
  • Research lighting design and industry trends to inform your designs
  • Develop visualisations for discussion with the senior design team

What qualities and skills you will need

  • Evidence of considered design and development processes (a design portfolio is preferred)
  • Confident sketching ability and visualisation skills (KeyShot is preferred) and proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks is preferred)
  • Enthusiastic and able to take instruction as part of a team, yet can work independently when required
  • Confident in presenting ideas to senior stakeholders
  • A good understanding of CMF within the lighting industry
  • Confident in managing multiple projects to an agreed deadline

What skills are good to have

  • Specialist knowledge of manufacturing processes: die-casting, injection moulding, glass blowing, and metal fabrication
  • Experience in prototyping/3D printing to create working samples
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
