A Royal Visit to Astro HQ

Astro was delighted to welcome His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent and HM Lord-Lieutenant of Essex to The Astro Building on Wednesday 28th November 2018 for the official presentation of their Queen's Award for Enterprise: International Trade.

Warmly welcomed to Astro HQ by Co-Founders John Fearon and James Bassant, the Duke was invited on a tour of the main office and warehouse, with a number of employees introduced along the way to give an insight into the full operation of the business. Members of the Design Team provided an overview of the product development process; from the initial pencil sketch through to prototyping, including the use of Rapid Prototyping Machines, resulting in the final product arriving in Astro's UK 8,000 m2 warehouse.

A number of esteemed guests joined Astro in celebrating this milestone, including Robert Halfon MP, Bryan Burroughs Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Essex and John Jowers Chairman of Essex County Council.

"We were honoured to welcome HRH Duke of Kent and the Lord-Lieutenant of Essex to The Astro Building to present our second Queen's Award for International Trade. This award is worthy recognition of the unwavering hard work and spirit of the Astro team." - John Fearon & James Bassant
